Taekwondo is a martial art and combat sport originating in Korea. As with many other martial arts, Taekwondo is a combination of combat technique, self-defense, sport, exercise, entertainment, and philosophy.
NUSTKD follows the grading requirement guided by the Singapore Teakwondo Federation. The table below are the performance requirement expected from each candidate.

- 7th-8th dan (Master) with the title of Master (Sahyun)
- 9th dan (Grand Master) with the title of Grand Master (Saseong)
